Can your PC Breath?

Overheating can cause a lot of damage to your PC. To avoid this damage, there are several ways to ensure proper ventilation most of which are free. The easist thing to do is to make sure your PC or POS has a enough breathing room on all sides that have vents. The standard is 3 to 4 inches. This can be challenging in tight cash wraps - so place as much room as you can allow.

Secondly, ensure that the vents of the PC or POS is clear of papers, supplies or dust bunnies - all of which can hinder the fans effectiveness.

THANK YOU to all those that attended our third annual tekSESSIONS, tekservePOS' exclusive Retail Technology Conference. Your participation was key to an extremely successful event. For those unable to make it this year, we look forward to sharing some of the incredible content presented at the event throughout the year in the pages of this newsletter, tekBLOG and other social media outlets.

I'm constantly amazed by the people in our retail community and their generosity. Part of our event was "The Amazing Retail Race" that literally consisted of retailers and vendors racing through a mall, gathering gifts to benefit The Lydia Home / Safe Families of Chicago. My description of the event comes no where close to giving the event justice. It was one of the most unique and successful events I've seen. All participants enthusiastically took part to benefit a great charity. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, to those who particpated. To read more about the event, click here.

tekSESSIONS has taken on a life of its own here at tekservePOS and continues to mature year after year. We continually work to provide content toward retail trends and information from a vendor agnostic perspective. Attendees should never feel "sold," but instead have the luxury of gathering information from a source (tekservePOS) that enjoys this position in the marketplace.

Already in the planning stages, tekSESSIONS 2010 will see some twists and turns to the event that will, I believe, make it the strongest ever. The conference will be held November 3-5, 2010 in Chicago so save the date!

Happy holidays!

John Pruban

President, tekservePOS

Our PED/ PIN Pad Encryption facility is up and running! Only "street legal" for about 30 days and to date, about 10,000 units in the queue to be encrypted.... We are quickly learning - there is still much to be learned here! As we go through the process, we thought we might be able to provide some additional "value" in this area to our customers by sharing some of what we are learning.
