Isis™, the mobile commerce joint venture created by AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless, today announced the first of its local merchant partners across Austin, Texas and Salt Lake City, Utah. In addition, Aéropostale, The Coca-Cola Company, Champs Sports, Dillard’s, Foot Locker, Jamba Juice and Macy’s are among the first national merchants to join with Isis in advancing mobile commerce.

Isis’ national and local merchant partners join a long list of major merchants who already accept contactless payments. These merchants, including grocery stores, retailers, gas stations, coffee shops and restaurants, are already equipped with the payment terminals that are compatible with Isis. At launch, hundreds of merchant locations in both Austin and Salt Lake City will accept contactless payments, ensuring that consumers can use the Isis Mobile Wallet at the merchant locations they shop at every day.

Heartland Payment Systems recently unveiled its Mobuyle Restaurant solution, which enables restaurateurs to accept credit, debit and gift card payments through Android smartphones and mobile devices.

Mobuyle can be used by existing Heartland card restaurant merchants (new Heartland merchants must open an account) by downloading the free application at Google Play and purchasing a Mobuyle Encrypting Card Reader from Heartland. Restaurateurs then simply plug the reader into an Android smartphone or mobile device audio jack and swipe cards to process customer transactions from anywhere inside or outside a restaurant.

NCR Corporation recently announced the launch of NCR Customer Voice, a web-based customer loyalty, retention and referral tool that enables operators to monitor customer satisfaction and immediately deal with any dissatisfaction.

NCR Customer Voice provides restaurant operators with an easy way to survey customers and automate the process for receiving feedback on the customers’ experience. The software uses two survey questions that take less than 30 seconds to complete for customers and are distributed via email or available via a survey link on the customer’s receipt. Analytics that leverage the Net Promoter Score methodology are then used to escalate any concerns by customers so that operators can quickly right any wrongs and reach out directly to customers as soon as the feedback is given.
